Don't judge us for loving differently than you do

We see clearly with the eyes of our heart:

Your finger wagging doesn't point to our sin

It points to the hurt that has choked the root of creativity

And from it has made yet another rope

in the bondage of judgment.

Poem Hafiz

Painting by Carmen Belinda Costello

Calligraphy and translation by Ari Honarvar

Let us break the wine jug and let the wine flow
What better way to become pure than to break vows of purity?

Let the critics find fault with our bodies and minds
The same brush stroke that painted the heavens and earth has painted us

Nothing will be left of these earthly things
Knowing we are nothing, we are free to be this and that

How can we ever be separate from the beloved?
When our home is the beloved's safe embrace

Like the caterpillar we devour worldly concerns and worries
But we let go and become silent in the cocoon of love

We have settled in timelessness, let the wine flow
Love is eternal whether we come or go.

Poem Rumi

Painting by Carmen Belinda Costello

Calligraphy and translation by Ari Honarvar

This is Rumi's response to the most common and most uninspired question we ask one another when we first meet: What do you do?

What do we do?

We love life

This is our full time job

Like diligent farmers,

we sow seeds of kindness

wherever we go

Please don't ask us to be accountants of wine cups

We are worshipers of the Wine.

Poem Rumi

I am not of the earth
I am not of the wind
I am not of the water
I am not of the fire
In this ocean of existence
I dance and twirl
I am drunk with life -
